President's Message
by Rick Thompson

It's almost that time of year again. The tuna are piled up off of North Carolina, but very few boats are getting out because of the weather. The ones that do go are catching big blue fin and yellow fin up to 60lbs. Let's hope the rockfish will be ready to bite in our water, they have been catching them all winter in Va. Beach. Lots of big rockfish are being taken, the fishery is said to be in the best shape it has ever been in before. I have heard the biggest reason there is a shortage of crabs is because the rockfish are eating so many of them. Is this just another fish story or is possible. I guess we will find out after April 19th gets here. We have over 25 boats signed up for the rockfish tournament. There are only a few slips left so you better get your money to Rob before we run out. It may be to late already. We need to get everyone signed up who want to do the flounder tournament, give Dave a call if you plan to go. He will be a little late for our next meeting, so let him know ahead of time if you can. Tyler has set up a big time dinner for us at the firehall on Friday night. This year Du Paul's Catering is setting up the whole thing and also serving the food, so everyone will be able to enjoy the dinner. As always the club is eating a big part of the cost. This should be the best meal you ever ate for $5.00.

Hope to see you all on Wednesday night - Rick!
