Fishing Report by Charlie Koski
Fall where, not here at least not as of 10/24. Water temps are still in the 70's. Fishing has been good for the few that are going. Must have caught 30 flounder the other day, no keepers but a lot of ones that should have been. Also Red Drum can be caught the backside and front
side of Fisherman Point of Assateague. Trigger fish, small sea bass, tautog at the wrecks. Unfortunately I broke a throttle cable after a sunset cruise on Sunday and am out of the water for the season. Will still be out fishing when I can.
Offshore, Wahoo are still being brought in & Ray Twiford on the October Moon did an overnighter last week & had 8 Yellowfin, a Sword and a hoo. All YF were over 70 lbs. With this cold front moving in not sure what affect it will have on the fishing. Should move the large
stripers in since we have only seen some some small ones around the bridge pilings. Come on down and get in on the piscatorial plethora. Tight Lines.

Chesapeake Bay Fishing Report
by Captain Ed Susa
Bluefish, bluefish & more bluefish. Seems most of the action lately has been big blues hitting spoons & surgical hoses trolled at medium depths 100-150ft back dominated the action throughout the bay. Live liners complained of these hungry bluefish tearing up their spot
& eating everything but the hook. I don't know how the hell they can eat all but a small chunk right up to the hook, but it happens.
I heard that some rockfish were still being caught live ling at the # 86 buoy north of Chesapeake Beach & they're still slamming them around buoy # 72 in the southern portion of the bay, but the spot are moving out & harder to find. Bluefish are out numbering the rockfish
5 to 1 at buoy # 4 in the False Channel.
Trolling has seen some larger fish in the mid 30" range from the radar Towers south to Parker's Creek in 36-50 ft of water. Medium & small bucktails with 6" sassy shads fished from deep to medium depths are the ticket.
Small pods of trout have been found in 30-50 ft of water in the False channel & in the Mouth of the Little Choptank & jigging with 2oz stingsilvers have been producing fish to 14".
Warm weather has delayed the arrival of larger fish, but you can see the baitfish schooling up all over & with this cold spell the big fish should be on their way.
Good luck and Hit'em hard.

NC King Mackerel Trip is back
for 2008
Oct 4-11, 2008 (Saturday - Saturday)
This trip will allow anyone with a trailer boat to enjoy kingfishing within sight of the beach & be protected from any north or northeast wind. We'll be at Harker's Island which is even closer to the fishing grounds. We have secured the entire motel at Calico Jack's &
have already filled the 21 rooms & have 16 boats going. Don't worry if you have not signed up as we will have contacts for houses that are very close & you will still be able to keep your boat at the marina. We'll l host 2 nights of great food, one a catered BBQ &
the chapter trailer & grill will be on site for anyone to use. We'll also have a signup sheet for crews & boats. So if you need people you will be able to review the list & if you have a boat looking for people you will be able to advertise. These will be at the meeting.
We'll be doing a rigging event where you can get all the supplies you need. We'll do a Q&A for anyone at the next meeting & should have all the supplies necessary for tying rigs. I know it's early but we want everyone to be prepared & have everything they need well
in advance. See Rob Pellicot at the meeting or call him at 240-586-5201 for more details on the trip.
