President's Message
by Rick Thompson
A very tough year of fishing is coming to an end. We all hope next year will better to us out on the water.
The tuna just showed up in N. C. and I 'am sure some of us will get a shot or two at them. The rockfish should start showing up in Virginia Beach in big numbers now that the weather finally changed.
We now have our January dinner tickets they are available form Bob Pellicot , Crabby, Jerry, Fred, Walt, Gordon, and myself if you want to get yours before the meeting on 11/14 or if you miss the meeting give us a call so you don't miss out. This year is going to be a dinner/dance
on Friday night January 11th again at Dutch's Daughter from 7:00 to 11:00 the cost is $30. No long speeches or awards this year, just good night out with friends and a great meal.
We have had a hard time getting some our speakers to show up and we have to live with that. Sometimes things come up at the last minute in our busy lives, and they are doing us a favor. We appreciate all of them taking their time to come talk to us. If you know anyone who you
would like in invite to come speak to us please give me a call, we are always looking for new people and topics that you guys would like to hear about.
Next months meeting will be a club swap and trade event. Bring anything you don't use or need or want anymore and see if someone else could put it to good use. I will be bringing the rest of Marty's gear. I really appreciate you guys buying all the tackle you did at the last
meeting.
The rest of the meeting in Dec. will be a bull-fish session, we want to hear all the fishing stories you have not told us about yet, and bring your pictures. We want more pictures from all.
The club is going to buy everyone there a free dinner, including any new folks you want to invite to join us, so show up and eat with us. I think it will be a good way to end the year and a little thank you to all of you for being part of the best salt water fishing club in the
state.
Hope to see all of you next week and in Dec.
