President's Message
by Rick Thompson
It's about that time of year when the fishing gets a lot better than in the hot summer months. Let's hope that is true again this year because the fish have been hard to find this summer. I finally got two good days of good weather and good catching last week out of Oregon Inlet.
We went the first day out to the tuna tower about 24 miles offshore and found King Mac and some very strange mix of water temps. The second day we went north east out about 35 miles and found a very long weed line and caught 21 Dolphin. Most of them were caught on light spinning
tackle, it was a great time. I hope everyone is ready for the trip to Hatteras. We are going to have a catered barbeque diner and have another diner with burgers, hot dogs and hopefully fish another night. Charlie Appleby is going to pull the trailer for us so the grill and supplies
will be there for everyone to use. The meeting is going to be a week later this month, so don't forget it is Wed the 17th. We will have a great speaker this month, Captain Chuck Woodward and his mate Joe of the Yellowfin out of Ocean City will talk to us about finding fish offshore
and some of their tactics. The board decided our Dec meeting is going to be a little different this year. We are going to buy everyone diner that night, have a little tackle swap for members to sell or exchange what they want to get rid of and the meeting is going to be a bull-shit
session to meet and greet and tell fishing stories. I hope you all have good luck fishing in N. C. or wherever you get to go, be safe out there and come to our meeting on the 17th.

Meeting: starts at 7:00 pm
Speaker: We are glad to have Chuck Woodward of Yellowfin Charters and his mate Joe who runs the Yellowfin out of Ocean City, Md. as our speakers this month. They have had a great season working
the offshore hot spots outside Ocean City this year. As one of the top charters in the area, Chuck will be speaking on the offshore hot spots he frequents to land the BIG fish. He will be educating us on how to locate the fish, the proper rigs to utilize and most of all his fishing
tactics to land these fish. So let's all welcome Chuck and Joe to our meeting.
Vendor:
There will be no vendor this month, although, we will have available a tremendous amount of bay and general tackle to purchase from one of our outstanding and deeply missed members, Marty Russell. As you all know, Mary was a heck of a guy, a great friend, a welcomed fishing buddy
and he collected tackle for many years. If Marty didn't have "one" then no one did. If any tackle shop didn't have it…Marty did. So review your tackle needs for the fall, bring your money and let's buy, buy, buy. See you there!
