Headboat Trip Sept 8th
This is the last time to sign up and the full payment of $125 will be required. There are only 45 spaces available and we are taking the whole boat. Payment in full will be due at the August meeting. The bus, fishing, tip & bait is included. You just need to bring your rods
& lunch. You can rent rods on the boat. We will leave from the Mt Airy Park & Ride at 4:30 am sharp via a chartered bus. We will fish out of Indian River Inlet, Delaware for sea bass, some flounder and a few sea trout. We plan to return approximately 7-8pm. Walt Shaw
will have information and signups at the meeting. Make sure to bring your deposit or full payment.
Chapter Tuna Tournament/Trip
The 5th Frederick tuna tournament was held July 14 and 15, from Captain Bob's Marina in Chincoteague, VA. Weather was good and sea conditions not too bad for the 6 boats. The fish were hard to find, with only 2 boats weighing fish Saturday. Crabby weighed a 58.5# yellowfin, while
Tunahelper weighed a 50.3# and 61.0# yellowfin. Both crews caught while trolling South of Washington Canyon. The slow bite and a potentially rough forecast kept all but 1 boat from fishing Sunday. As usual the forecast was wrong as Sunday was not such a rough day, but the tuna
did not cooperate at all. First place goes to Tunahelper, second place to Crabby. Third place will be decided by a drawing of the remaining boats at the August meeting. Thank you to all who participated.
MSSA Crab Feast

to us. Tickets will go fast so get yours today by calling the MSSA office at 410-255-5535.
MSSA Scholarship Foundation
Dinner
Mark your calendar now for the MSSA Scholarship Foundation's fund raising dinner on Saturday, Nov. 4th at Fleet Reserve Club in Annapolis. The dinner is $25 per person & features an all you can eat buffet. There'll be a silent auction along with the dinner that afternoon.
These silent auctions often yield items, fishing trips, prints & pictures well below retail value so you have a chance to cash in on some great bargains, while helping fund the education of a deserving student. Call the office at 410-255-5535.
Discounts On Enterprise
Rental Cars
MSSA has a new contract with Enterprise. We have discount cards available at the meeting so pick one up. We distributed a bunch of these in July. Thanks to Steve for heading this up.
Membership Coordinator
Jay Betts has graciously accepted to take on this position on work with Ken Wheeler. If you have any suggestions please let Jay or Ken know and hopefully you may hear from Jay as he updates our membership rolls and
works to get more people active and increase our meeting attendance.

Safety Tips
Safety Gear:
Check flares for the expiration dates, fire extinguisher for proper charge & purchase these now so you do not forget.
Trailer:
Replace brake fluid in the master cylinder using a suction gun or turkey baster. Brake fluid attracts moisture & given the environment this should be done every year.
Registration & Fishing License:
Check dates on the 2yr registration to make sure it's not expired, if so you can renew & get your boat fishing license at the same time. If not, go to Walmart to get your boat license & avoid the rush.
