President's Message
by Rick Thompson
Hope you're catching what you're fishing for! We have to make a change in the Head boat trip set for Sept 8th. We do not have near enough people signed up for this trip, so the decision was made to drop the charter bus & offer to anyone who wanted to go the option of putting
groups together to drive down & still do the trip. The price of the head boat will be $ 57.00 per person, but we still need at least 25 people to go fishing. There was a lot of interest earlier to add this trip for our members but very few came forward & signed up when
the time came to put up the money. Please contact Walt Shaw if you want to go, talk to some buddies and get a carload together. Everyone is invited to go nonmembers, kids, and the wife or lady friend. It should be a good time and an easy comfortable day of fishing.
The next thing we need to talk about is the Raffle tickets. We have all most 6,000 tickets on the street, but only about 2,200 turned in so far. The drawing will be at the next meeting this coming Wednesday Aug 8th. Please do all you can to get them sold and turned in. If you
can not make it to the meeting give me a call & I will be glad to pick them up from you before then. This is our only Fund-raiser of the year & I need every one of you to do what you can to help us out. This club does a lot for all its members, & donates a lot of
money for many great causes, but it only works with the help of all. If you feel that the cruise give-a-way is not a good idea or you have a new or better plan I'd love to hear about it. I need all the help I can get. This is the hard part of this job, but the most important.
We cannot pay for all the great things this club provides without your support.
I hope everyone who has been coming to our meetings this year has enjoyed my new way of running the meeting. We spend more time telling stories & mingling. I have tried to get everyone to get up & tell us a fishing story or an update on how fishing has been for them.
Maybe even give away a secret or two. If you have not been to a meeting, please come by and join us. We have a great time and the food has been a real treat. Hope to see all of you on the 8th and keep on fishing.
