President's Message
by Rick Thompson
What a great start to our fishing season. We had two every good tournaments in both weather & results.
The Rockfish Tournament had 29 boats entered. The Flounder Tournament had 19 boats. I think that's a real nice turnout, and everyone that attended had a good time on the water. The dinner at Solomons Maryland had over 80 members enjoy a good, cheap $ 3.00 dinner of chicken
& barbecue, just one of the extra's we do for our members. I hope anyone that couldn't be there this year will be able to fish with us next year. A lot of big fish were caught & a lot were released that fell in the slot limit. All the fish I saw were in good shape with
no signs of problems or disease. Lets hope it stays that way throughout the year.
Our June meeting should have plenty of good fish stories to talk about now that lots of us have been out fishing again. We have a new trip planed for Sept 8th out of Indian River Inlet for some Sea Bass fishing. We are going to hire a charter bus to take care
of the driving which will make it a really good time for all. There'll be room on the boat & the bus for only 45 members, we'll start taking deposits at the June meeting on a first come basis. The cost will be between $115-$125 to cover a full day of fishing & transport.
We're going to meet at the park & ride in Mt. Airy Maryland at around 3:30am returning between 6-7 pm. This is a trip lot a lot of members have shown interest in & will be the 1st time we put something like this together. If anyone has any other fishing trips
in mind that they would like to see the club do, please let us know, we are always looking for ideas that will make our club even better.
Please try to come to the June meeting, we will be doing the Rockfish and Flounder Tournament Awards & we will be voting to see who gets the horse's ass award from one of these tournaments. Hope to see you all there.
