President's Message
by Stephen Shechtel

With so much going on and to do, it has been hard to keep my mind on work! The Spring Tournament is just days away. Just two weeks later is the Frederick Famous Flounder Tournament. Then it's a quick run to start the offshore Tuna action with Buster and Neal off Oregon Inlet (and the Tuna reports are white hot!). Before you know it, it will be time for another Frederick Famous Offshore Tournament. With the sun out, temperatures warming up, and well everything else, my mind starts to drift away from the office way too quickly and on to play time.

If you have not looked at the calendar of events, please do. Make a note of everything that is scheduled so you can take part. Take a glimpse at the programs that the Board has planned. You could not find a schedule that contains more "hands on" learning opportunities than if you paid to attend fishing school. Our May speaker is Bill Pino, Owner of the Incommunicado, a 32' Mirage Charter boat out of Ocean City. Bill placed 31st in the White Marlin Open last year. For June, Boat US has graciously provided one of their Insurance Underwriters to speak on what you need to know about boat insurance. Bring your policy to learn what coverage you actually, or do not have. July will bring a round robin of "how to" seminars such as bait rigging, with you doing the rigging right there at the meeting. Talk about hands on.

So get ready for another great season. I wish each and every member the best of luck in the Tournaments. May everyone enjoy tight lines, fair skies, calm seas, and lots of time on the water.
