Updates From Rob
Upcoming Events:
Superbowl Football Pool:
This will be our only fundraiser this year and these will be available at the November meeting.
Chapter Flea Market Event:
Dec 14th -
The Chapter will host a Flea Market at the December meeting. Make sure to bring your used or new stuff as we will have plenty of tables so you can get rid of it and get some cash for Christmas. Start collecting your stuff now and as you clean out the boat think of things you
didn't use this year. This will help lighten up the boat for next year and save you some gas. We will also have some vendors as well. We look forward to this becoming an annual event so please plan on attending.
If you plan on bringing "stuff" for sale at the December Swap Meet, please notify Robert Pelicott, III so we can have an idea of the number of tables that need to be available.
CHAPTER DINNER: - Jan. 11th
This years chapter dinner will be held at Dutch's Daughter, Frederick on Wednesday, January 11, 2005. In keeping with the desires of the membership, we were able to reduce the cost per person from last year. The cost per Adult is $25.00 (children t/b/d). The menu will include:
a seafood dish, roast beef and a chicken dish. To avoid the problems associated with reservations last year, you must have a ticket to attend. Tickets will be available at the November and December meetings, and via mail from Rick Thompson, or in person at Crabby's of Damascus,
and at Shockley Honda from Robert Pelicott, Sr.
Winter Fishing:
We will be doing some trips to Rudee Inlet in Virgina Beach this December for rockfish. Lodging is cheap at the Days Inn, $25 /night weekday and $30/ night for the weekend. The boat ramp is 2 miles away and it's free. Rockfish are right off the beach and you can use your standard
bay trolling rigs and outfits. Remember you must stay within 3 miles of the beach at all times for rockfish. Last year we limited out every day. We usually look for a great weather window to schedule the trips. See Crabby or just at the meeting if you are interested.

Fishing Report by Charlie Koski
Well fishing here has just about ceased. There was a good Spot run the second week of October and I am still getting small ones in the minnow trap. Not many folks fish for them with rod & reel here but the Gill-netters really scored
big on them. They are excellent striper bait though. I will save a few in my float for that reason. There were some small flounder caught at the inlet but no keepers. The water temps are still around 67 degrees which is what it should have been in September. With the cold snap
coming here at the end of October it will not take long to drop.
Once water temps drop big stripers will be heading in the inlets and just off the beach. They will also school up down around Kiptopeake State Park and trolling in the channel from the Cement Ships to Cape Charles will be the ticket to catching these. Right after Thanksgiving
is the time to try this fishery. The VA Chesapeake Bay season opened on Oct. 4 and runs until December 31. Trolling umbrella rigs, stretch 25's, parachutes or Mojo rigs will all work. We used planer boards last year and I we were the only one who did. Alot of boats converge on
this area thought and making a turn can be tricky. I seen some nice rockfish that were caught not far from the ships while drifting eels on fish finder rigs also. Regulations are two fish 18" - <28" or one fish over 34" and one 18" - <28". Remember
MD fishing license is reciprocal in VA!
