Updates From Rob
Upcoming Events:
Chapter Flea Market:
The Chapter will host a Flea Market at the December meeting. Make sure to bring your used or new stuff as we will have plenty of tables so you can get rid of it and get some cash for Christmas. Start collecting your stuff now and as you clean out the boat think of things you
didn't use this year. This will help lighten up the boat for next year and save you some gas. We will also have some vendors as well.
Winter Fishing:
We will be doing some trips to Rudee Inlet in Virgina Beach this December for rockfish. Lodging is cheap at the Days Inn, $25 /night weekday and $30/ night for the weekend. The boat ramp is 2 miles away and it's free. Rockfish are right off the beach and you can use your standard
bay trolling rigs and outfits. Remember you must stay within 3 miles of the beach at all times for rockfish. Last year we limited out every day. We usually look for a great weather window to schedule the trips. See Crabby or just at the meeting if you are interested.
Chincoteague Fisherman:
Secure boat storage is available on Rt 175 next to Ray's Shrimp Shanty. Tell them you are Frederick MSSA to get the discounted rate of $30/ month. Call Colleen at 757-990-2404.
Offshore Fishermen:
Don't forget to get your HMS Permit (Highly Migratory Species) formally the Tuna Permit before heading offshore. It's $22 and you can do it yourself online at nmfspermits.com or call 888-872-8862. It's good from June 1,
2005 to May 31, 2006.
