President's Message
by Stephen Shechtel

If you attend a Board meeting, you soon realize that a lot of people are working hard to make Frederick #22 the best chapter in MSSA. There is a lot that goes into making everything come together. There are the: dinner, speaker, vendors, sponsors, promotion, advertising, publishing the newsletter, tournaments, MSSA notification, raffles & prizes, and so much more. You should consider attending a Board Meeting. The next one is on October 26, 2005.

We have much on the horizon planned for you. Our next meeting on October 19, 2005 (delayed due to NC King Trip) will feature Paul Ropp of AB Seas Marine of Frederick who will provide useful hints on winterizing your boat and trailer. Paul will also be our guest vendor. The November 9, 2005 meeting will feature a speaker on rod and reel maintenance and repair. The December 14, 2005 meeting will be our first ever Frederick #22 Flea Market/Garage Sale.

The December meeting will not feature a speaker. We are going to try something new. Everyone is invited to set up a table to sell new and used fishing gear, boating equipment, and anything else they believe would be of interest to the membership. Some of our previous guest vendors have been invited to offer odds and ends, left overs, and whatever else they want to offer for sale at reduced prices. This meeting is meant to be an enjoyable experience for everyone.

We are already hard at work to plan the January dinner meeting. And this year for our fund raiser, we will be offering a Super Bowl pool, where a $10.00 ticket will buy you four chances to win $50.00. Tickets should be available for sale at the October Meeting.

Finally, I apologize for the length of last month's message. The process of printing the newsletter is a mystery to me, but it seems that somehow John Sivinski took a discarded file and included in my message. The actual message was half of what was printed. Sorry... but I do not get the luxury of being able to proof the newsletter prior to printing.

( Tight lines to all. )
