Fishing Report
by Charlie Koski
Tuna season is
in full swing and the bigger ones have started to finally
move to the inshore lumps like the Lumpy Bottom and
Parking Lot. Check the Tuna Regs before heading out
since they do change! If chunking, Bluefish will show
up and you will loose tackle. Dolphin are also available
along with a few King Mackeral.
The Flounder bite has slowed a bit but if you get in
deeper water you can still pick up a keeper here and
there. We also have had a decent showing of Kingfish
occasionally. The Croaker have showed up in various
places around the island. These are very hard fighting
fish and are loads of fun to catch. They make pretty
good table fare if eaten fresh. July is here and it
is time to hit the water and get some fishing done.
Tight lines!
