President's Message:
For what it is worth:
For the past several months, the President's Message has been about what's on the horizon for MSSA Frederick Chapter #22, our accomplishments, and a request for volunteers. As a follow up, I thought that the membership would like to know more about the people behind the events.
Let's start with some accolades. If you are reading this column, and just in case I have not said it enough, then the odds are you are a member of one hell of a great chapter in MSSA. As almost everyone knows, our Spring [Rockfish] Tournament would not have been possible without
the outstanding efforts of Robert Pelicott III. So I start with Rob. Rob organized the entire event from start to finish. Not one other MSSA Chapter that I am aware of had a Chapter sponsored dinner during the Spring Tournament. So for a great dinner: a thank you goes out to:
Robert Pelicott, Bob Pelicott, Jerry Leuters, Todd and Kim Houser, "ET" Ed Norris, Chuck Mullaney, all of the servers, people who helped setting up and putting away chairs, tables, trash, and everything else that made the evening a success. We also owe Georgie Kline
of Tyler's Tackle and West Marine/ Boat US a note of thanks for their generous donations of raffle prizes for our Tournament Dinner raffle. And a thank you also goes out to Gordon Jernigan who organized and chaired the Calcutta committee.
(The rest of this message will appear next month.)
