President's
Message
by Dave Griffin
Now that I'm officially
married my fishing days will really be numbered. I know
some of you will say, I thought they already were since
I only fished the Spring Tournament. I was so rusty I
enlisted Crabby's help to get the skunk out of the box.
Anyway I've asked permission to continue my fishing addiction
and she said she will let me know, so stay tuned. I will
miss the Tunament, darn the honeymoon thing but I should
be back in action for the Chapter Tuna Tournament, I hope.
Well the offshore season is starting off with a bang,
they have had the best shark season in recent memory with
people catching multiple makos in 1 trip. Did I mention
I did not even get offshore yet and probably won't until
July. Oh well till death due us part. The yellowfin and
bluefin tuna along with dolphin are offshore and reports
even indicate they have caught these at the Parking Lot.
It starting out as a fantastic season and hopefully it
will continue well into the fall. I will still guarantee
excellent weather for all of our events and as I still
here watching the couples on the nude beach I feel I can't
go wrong with that prediction.Tight butt, I mean tight
lines and following seas.
See you at the meeting.
Dave Griffin
Tunament Results
Mark Blye on Catch 22 & crew came in 2nd place
in Division 1 with a 72.5lb bluefin worth $446.25 &
won another $122 for 3rd place in the $50 Calcutta with
a combined 2 fish total of 113lbs. His geriatric crew
of LeRoy Fleming, Jay Betts & Chuck Mullaney were
given adequate doses of Ensure Energy Drink to make sure
they lasted thru the weekend. Actually they had some nice
fish & despite losing 1 day of fishing to a spun prop
they were able to beat the odds & end " in the
money." Great job guys. Mark also won the Frederick
Calcutta worth $300.
John Travers (AKA) Crabby won the dolphin division
with a 19.1 lb fish. He received $980 for his efforts.
His crew consisted of Jim Stevens, Todd (the Cook) Houser
& Tony Tolbard.
