President's Message
by Dave Griffin

On behalf of the Frederick Chapter I'd like to say "Thank You" to Bruno Vasta for his service to the MSSA as president for the last 2 years. Bruno is a longtime member of the MSSA & was a past president of the Southern MD. Chapter. I hope that his unselfish & tireless service to the MSSA can now be rewarded by kicking back on his boat, listening to his reels sing, and that he still be involved in the MSSA in another capacity. I'd also like to welcome & congratulate Bill Windley as the new president of the MSSA. Bill is a MSSA past president & I'm sure we’ll be in good hands under his leadership. As with all of our presidents, the Frederick Chapter offers Bill our full support. Best of Luck to Bruno and Bill.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I wish everyone a very happy holiday season & a Merry Christmas! Our December meeting will not feature a guest speaker. We will review our 2004 calendar of events. If you have any ideas to improve our ongoing events or would like to help plan a new event, this is the time to let us know. Coming up first in 2004 is our annual dinner meeting at the Cracked Claw. We have over 60 people signed up. We're expecting about 120. This is always a great way to start the year. In just a few months we’ll be getting ready to start the fishing season! Check the dates for the Timonium fishing show & the Chesapeake Bay boat show. The MSSA will have a booth at these shows. We’ll need volunteers to help out. Give the MSSA a little of your time. Get into the boat shows for free. See Rob or me if you can volunteer.
While most of us have put away our boats for the winter, there are chapter members still fishing the Southern Bay & CBBT for big rock & the outer banks for yellowfin tuna. There is also interest among some members in a trip to Morehead city this winter for some giant bluefin action. This will also be discussed at the December meeting.

Hope to see you all Wed. Dec. 12.
