President's Message

A good part of the summer is already gone and to be quite frank about it, fishing has just
been plain lousy! It doesn't mean we can't still have a good time as we did in our first Frederick Chapter Tuna Tournament in July.
We had 13 boats entered but only 3 tuna were caught. Anyone who wants to do some light tackle fishing for bluefish will be in blues
heaven though. Hopefully, things will heat up and in fact there are some encouraging signs of that in time for the upcoming MSSA
Offshore Tournament coming up August 15 - 17. Be sure to sign up. We will put together a pot for Frederick Chapter members only.
More on that at the August meeting.
Speaking of MSSA tournaments, you might have noticed that Boaters World is a huge supporter of these tournaments. They donate thousands
of dollars in money & prizes & hold our spring tournament captain's meetings in their stores. They also give a 10% discount
to MSSA members. Next time you walk into one of those other well known marine stores, remember that none of these do for us what
Boater's World does. I know that sometimes we have to shop somewhere else for a particular item, but if you can get what you need
at Boater's World, please do so. Support those businesses that support you! |

News Letter Update
The Frederick Chapter Newsletter is now available on the internet at http://www.mssafrederick.com
We will no longer be mailing a hard copy of the monthly newsletter to you unless your membership is up to date and you contact
the MSSA Secretary at 301-253- 0539 or see me at the monthly meeting
and request that a hard copy continue being mailed to you. A "mail to only list" was started at the March meeting. A current
e-mail address is necessary to receive monthly notices when the newsletter is available online. The monthly email notification will
have a link to click on that takes you directly to the website.
