Cook Mo' Fish

Rockfish with Artichokes
2 cans artichokes hearts
½ cup olive oil
3 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp. rosemary leaves
salt and pepper
2-4 rockfish fillets
Preheat oven to 425. Slice artichoke hearts into half or quarters depending on the size.
Safeway sells cans of extra small artichoke hearts. Mix olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper in a bowl and set aside. Pat fish
dry and place in baking dish large enough for fish and artichoke hearts. Add sliced artichoke hearts and the oil & lemon juice
mixture and sprinkle the fish with rosemary. Turn the artichokes slices so that they are coated with the juice mixture. Baste the
fish with the juice and place it in the upper third of the preheated oven. After 20 min. cooking, baste the fish and turn the artichoke
hearts. Bake for another 15 - 20 min.

Welcome new members to the Frederick Chapter.
If you have a family membership, you can obtain membership cards for your included family
by listing their names in the space provided on the application/renewal form. Please note that the family membership only covers
children to the age of 16.
Please check beside your name on themember roster each meeting. Check your renewal dates. Some MSSA tournaments require the Captain
to be a MSSA member. The Tunament requires all participants to be MSSA members. We had approximately 80 members present at the May
meeting. This attendance information is useful for planning future meetings and activities. Please update your demographic information
and E-mail addresses.

Report from Bill's Fishing

The fishing has slowed down quite a bit in the Solomon's area. A number of the captains are chumming at 72 and 72A for small rockfish
and an occasional croaker. But I hear that that bite has even slowed. I still hear reports of nice catches of hardhead up the Patuxent
River towards Broome's Island. The best bite in those locations is in the very early hours and very late evening. One bright spot
is seeing some nice keeper flounder caught on the eastern edge. I've only heard of one or two mostly undersized trout. The large
amounts of fresh water entering the Bay have caused poor water quality, and I feel that this is affecting the fishery. I'm hoping
to start the night fishing around the first of July to suggest some locations for the night fishing trip coming up July 19.
Those captains wanting to fish the July night trip should contact me by Tuesday, July 15. The current plans are to meet around the
three-legged buoy about 6 p.m. that evening. There will be a $5.00/person pool for either the largest fish or the largest trout,
depending on what the majority of those fishing choose. Four boats are already signed up. If interested in fishing the night fishing
