President's Message
by Dave Griffin
There are those that say, "I'm the smart one. I don't own a boat, I go out
on others' boats and let them have the headaches & expense". Yes, they can cause headaches and they are expensive, but
if I don't have my boat then you might as well cut my arms off! To me, there's just nothing like being on your own boat and all
the expense and headaches are well worth it and those who think different are missing something! It's the same with fishing on a
charter boat. Nothing against those who run charter boats or those who fish on them, but to me the excitement is going out on your
own boat, finding fish and catching them. So what does all this mean? Nothing really, but since I've been dealing with the headaches
& expense part of boating for the last several weeks I just had to remind myself how good it feels.
Hopefully the cold water and the poor tuna fishing are behind us. We should be in great
shape for the Frederick Chapter 1st Annual Tuna Tournament on July 12-13. Be sure to sign up by July 9. Look for more information
in this newsletter or on the website.
I'd like to thank Bob Pellicot, Charlie Appleby, Walt Shaw, & Ralph Cope for
the work they've done on the new chapter trailer. This is going to be a
great help for our chapter trips.
Hope to see you all at the July meeting! |
