President's Message
by Dave Griffin
Our next meeting on April 9, will mark our 5th year as a chapter of the MSSA. At
that first meeting we had 28 people in attendance. At our last meeting we had over 110! I thank all of the members for your support
of the chapter not only by attending meetings but for participating in our fishing trips & tournaments and the many hours of
volunteer work that many of you put into this group. Each year our fishing events get bigger & better. We're expecting 30 or
more boats this year in the Flounder & Spring tournaments & for the King Mackerel trip in October we've already taken reservations
for 20 boats. Check the 2003 Calendar of Events for these & other fishing trips. Have you checked our new website at
www.mssafrederick.com
Maureen Appleby & her brother John Zedler have put in many hours & done
a fantastic job setting this website up. The newsletter, calendar of events & other info is all there with much more to come.
Our goal is to have as many members as possible get their newsletter from the site thereby saving money for the chapter & time
for Maureen. If you have any questions or would like to add something, contact Maureen.
Winter is finally behind us & everyone should be getting their boats ready the season
ahead. Every year we schedule a shakedown cruise for those who are anxious to get out on the water. This year we'll meet at Sandy
Point on Sunday April 6. If you'd like to join us give me a call at 301-473-7135. There are more details for this elsewhere in the
newsletter. Hope to see everyone at the next meeting. Don't forget to register for the Frederick Chapter Flounder & Spring Tournaments
by the April meeting for the early bird rates. Happy Springtime to all! |

Speaker Kerry Muse, Captain of the 48' Darlene II will be our speaker
