MD - Rockfish Survey
Everyone make sure to record your data and submit it online the link is:

fisheries
This data will help us keep our allocation and provide accurate data on our catch. Otherwise we Will be subject to what the scientist
indicate. Please take the time to fill this out as I'm sure many of you fished on opening day. We will also try to have the hard
copy survey at the meeting.
Chapter Members in the News Check out the latest issue of Tidelines for recipes from our very own
Maureen Appleby and the Frederick Chapter Year in Review. We have also had our share of news articles and pictures in the Frederick
News Post thanks to Jim Guilford.
Legislative Issues
The MSSA plans to support the Freedom to Fish Act. This protects your right to fish and basically proposes the waters of the state
of Maryland shall not be closed to recreational fishing within reason.
Please stand up and take notice as groups who oppose fishing have closed areas in California and they are effectively shutting down
parts of the ocean. More to come in the future.

Spring Tournament
Spring Tournament
It's not to early to start making plans for this 2003 tournament, as it will be a 3 day event, May 16-18. You can fish all 3 days
but can only check fish on 2 of the 3 days.
There is a guaranteed $15,000 1st place this year and daily winners on all 3 days. The entry fee is $150 until 3/15 and $175 thereafter.
If you have specific questions, see Rob Pellicot at the meeting.
We will be doing our own tournament as well. $50 entry fee for a better cash payout this year and more places too. More to come
on this later.
